When the Truth is a Lie

I usually stay away from writing about politics - but ... I heard one of the president's speeches this week and I have to comment. He said, "We weren't asked for this war..." I was infuriated. How can he say that, I thought? After all, and I replayed all the arguments... We attacked unprovoked. Every argument we had has been refuted.

But wait. Doesn't that make it true that we weren't asked? Isn't it interesting that such an obvious lie can be so obviously true? Our language is very strange.
